Giving the client a better understanding of the current cause to injuries from dockworkers, as providing the client with a clear perspective on how the solve them
I got the opportunity to work as a Product Development researcher at the department of Product Development at the University of Antwerp. I worked on projects concerning Design For Healthcare. In particular on a project concerned the implementation of an injury preventive Product-Service-System solution for dockworkers in the port of Antwerp. Working in a multi-disciplinary team, we conducted research using motion capturing suits to build a 3D representation of the dockworkers. During interviews the team encountered a knowlegde gap between instructors and dockworkers in the field. In order to fully understand the problem we conducted tests with IMU mocap suits to track and record the movements of dockworkers. With these 3D digital twins we could compare postures and conclude future steps.
