My role as a Designer
I personally took the responsibility to convince both organisations of the need for a more in depth introduction, I orchestrated the teambuilding exercise and presented myself as bridging person during the exercise and event.
Impact of the project
Creating a mutual understanding and higher respect for each others companies cultures as habits and believes.
Both creative agencies, Achilles Design and Studio Dott, have merged to form DottAchilles. Besides aligning the former companies on an organizational and administrative level, alignment in work ethics is also needed. To facilitate the process of merging the two work cultures into one, a thorough understanding and empathy for each other's ways of working are necessary. As an agency that believes in an agile and self-steering model, a bottom-up approach is required for this merger. This means that from the very beginning, employees from both companies need to understand and respect each other's ways of working in order to build a new one together.
